Why Lovers Can't Be Friends

You found me lost in my own little world
Needless to say did I know you
were about to turn that lost into a twirl

From the moment I saw your smile
a cool breeze and calm feeling blew passed me
like a beautiful sunny day wind calm,
that shiny gold dazzling, bringing out your eyes
so beautiful so glee

My heart desired a lover, thus my tongue requested a friend
For I know a friend will be there until the very end.
Now that we have crossed that line
To late to turn back
For now feelings are involved,
For sleepless nights are now bestowed upon me
It’s sleep that I lack

I’d looked forward to our daily conversations
You knew what I needed, my ego stroked
my mind tantalized, thus mental stimulation

We laughed played and shared ideas
Reality slipped passed me so quickly, never had I thought
That now you are going through troubles
My selfish ways turned my back and hurt you,
I admit it’s my fault

Please know that I still will have your back and call
For you are my ideal best friend, stand up, strait, stand tall

See now why lovers can’t be friends
Lovers are borrowed
Friends will be there until the end

Not unless, I have I lost a lover and gained a friend, or
have I lost a lover and a friend
