As The Motion Goes

I’m lost in this crazy haze
Do they love me or not?
So I continue to turn the page
Sometimes pausing to check the clock

Its 2:40 and still they haven’t called
Haven’t made a notion known
I jut my head into the hall
I guess that’s the way the motion goes

Turn, turn, turn, turn
Every time I feel a burn
Turn to you for something warm
Recalling how you used to swarm, back then

Faucet leaking forever and ever
Summer days drip by so slow
I turn the nozzle of the hose
I guess that’s how the motion goes

Hold my head up high again
Lose your pride just this time
Wait each night for a friend
To help me find the perfect rhyme

You have always rhymed with me
Will I someday rhyme to you?
Or will you someday let me know
Just how the motion goes

Peer at you from behind the door
Make my presence known
Then I come close and whisper to you
Show me how the motion goes…
