He gave her all that he could
He asked her if they'd be together forever, she said they would
But then it all changed one fateful day
He prayed to God, "Please, please just let her be okay."
He sat there for hours, wishing it wasn't true
Wondering and muttering to himself, "What can I do?"
The doctor finally came out to tell him the news
Now he's staring at family and friends crying in the pews
He told them how he loved her, and how he always will
He told them how her voice was always sweet and never shrill
He remembers how she asked him, if he would break her heart
He whispered to her, "Never, I've loved you from the start."
Now he'll never get to say "I love you baby" ever again
All he as are memories of his high school sweetheart, Jen
