You have something
that belonged to me
A caged heart
recently set free
Wings are broken
and scared to fly
I take flight
into the sky
Try as I may
try as I might
My brittle wings
can't endure the flight
This feeling of wind
rushing against me
I realize I'm falling,
here comes the sea
As the water envelops
my tired wings
I feel like I'm drowning,
yet birds still sing
Maybe tomorrow
I'll try again
To feel love's warmth
against my skin
