Opening The Door

Everything was goin' good,
'Till in my path, pressure stood,
It beckoned to me, said I should,
To it's evil fire, become wood.

I was an imprudent fool,
To be blinded by the cruel,
To it's evil, wish to be fuel.

But then I suddenly remembered,
What my mind had recently blurred,
The hope of God that heard,
My every cry and pathetic whimper.

He took mercy on me as so many times before,
So God, I thank you now for,
Opening up the one true door,
To you, my love, my savior.
