When Your House Doesn't Feel Like A Home

You wonder what made the change.
You glance around and try hard
to remember how things used to be
to look...
The empty shell- quickly forming
Where did it all go? Then...
You glance around and try hard-
don't look at the boxes...
But it is impossible.
Enemy lines have been drawn
created by box towers...
They fall away, to reveal
a kitchen intact.
Food- mom's food.
Freezer food. Endless...
You glance around and try hard-
do try and remember when
when did frozen food stop tasting plastic...
and start tasting homemade?
And when did poems...
become so hard...
to write?
I know.
It's when your house doesn't feel.
doesn't feel...
The very day your house
doesn't feel
like a home.
