Windows To The Soul

When you look into one's eyes,
what is it that you see?
If they are blue, would it be clear skies?
It shouldn't be.
And what about the color brown,
what pictures do you see?
Could it be possible for a royal crown?
It shouldn't be.
Oh, the shade of green,
I fear to know what it is you see.
Could it be the freshest part of the open sea?
It shouldn't be.

For, a while back I once was told
by a very wise young man,
that the eyes were the windows to one's soul.
You may not believe this fact,
but it is true.
For when I look, I see not a color,
and pictures are few.
In some, I can see a great amount of kindness.
And in others, well
there is a horrible amount of vindictiveness.

So remember next time you observe,
do not look for a vision or two.
Seek their emotions and their verve.
For what that wise man said is very, very true!
