In the stillness of the night
I hear you whisper my name.

Your soft melodic cry
Intrudes my midnight slumber.

I wake hoping to see your face.
That warm, sweet enticing smile,
The cool, calming glance of your eyes

Longing to feel your entwining embrace.

But I arise knowing you're not there,
and in my heart I feel a tear.

But I know I heard your melodic cry.

So I slumber once more,
knowing not any pain but filled with joy.

Silently listening, waiting to here you;

Call my name.
