That Kiss

On a night that most would call common and everyday
At a moment when it seemed like all had been said, something happened.
As I gazed into the Heavens to see if this was a dream,
there wasn’t a star in sight.
The moon sat solo, in its fullest state, shimmering softly, as if to show us
the way.
Music softly playing the songs, that now continually echoes in my mind,
Aided in bringing us closer to this moment, that lay waiting to be
uncovered.
As the minutes danced slowly by, freely giving themselves to be the hours,
that gathered around our very existence.
The sweetness of you consumed my senses, turning them into desire filled
pools of passion, wanting you to come swim in them.
The softness of your hand touched mine and enraged the flames deep
in the hollows of my heart and soul.
I become lost in you, daring not to find my way out.
It was then our lips touched and time, at that very moment, became
non-existent.
I felt the tears of joy, gathering in the corners of my eyes,
Waiting to take their journey down my face.
For it was then,
I could, for a moment, hear the angels singing to their approval of this
occurrence.
I felt my soul opening up to invite you in.
I saw nothing, in my closed eyes but the beauty of your face.
Tasted the sweetness of pure honey as our lips touched.
Became engrossed in the fire, which now raged deep within your soul.
I, for the first time, found that place where all that is perfect,
retreats.
I found Heaven, in that kiss
That kiss, that now sits quietly on my lips,
Waiting to be joined by another.
