A Broken Shelf

A lonely girl sits all alone
All she has is just her own
She feels unwanted and then she cries
All her life she’s been told lies

Where do I begin to help her now?
Her life has been turned upside down
I don’t know what to say or do to help
Her life is like a broken shelf

She carries the weight of fine things
The entire world sees what she brings
Inside she’s suffering and could break
That’s what it will take for those around to wake

Where do I begin to help her now?
Her life has been turned upside down
I don’t know what to say or do to help
Her life is like a broken shelf

I hope later on she finds what she needs
And those all around and her will see
She possesses fine beauty and grace
She’s also more than just a pretty face

She is an angel, so pure and free
It’s such a pity that she just can’t see
Later on she’ll find herself, I know
And then she’ll recapture her inner glow
