The chill October air whirled autumn leaves
And came to her on a late Tuesday night,
Whispering the story of the past year
And calculating vast amount of tears
That had been shed by both
Heartbroken and tattered souls.
The quick blasts of shrill air
Re-told the dysphoric tale
Of a boy and a girl
Who ascertained what innocence wasn't,
Mastering what love was,
And quietly began to narrate
The epic story
Of the tristful October night,
Directly one year ago.
Master Moon lit up his pipe
And looked down upon the night,
Readily awaiting the
All-to-well-known tale,
Eyes already beginning to wetten
And the corners of his mouth
Sagging in melancholy.
And Wind began.
Starting where every real story starts,
In the middle of nothingness,
In the midst of a boring life,
Led by a wholely shy
And un-known girl,
The most antithetical
Of the party boy she was to meet,
When Fate rolled out Her map.
It happened on
A clouded springtime night,
Directing virgin lips
To marijuanna tainted
And booze stained ones,
In a held out kiss.
She reached out her hand
For comfort
And he took it up,
In long-awaited pleasure
Of what he couldn't fulfill himself.
The embodiement of Heaven
Contrasting his diabolical ways
Balanced Nature
And steadied their lives
To sweet serenity.
He showed her what Life was
And she showed him what Love meant
So together they could
Stand on top of the world.
Synchronously they pulled ahead,
Trying to ripen into
What their childhood dreams
Had always cast them as
And found eachother
As stepping stones
Along the way,
So that Fortune could spring
Her ever-lasting spices upon
Their unawareness
Of what Wind had whispered
All along.
And so they fell in love.
But Treachery screamed
His requisite
For His side of every story,
And He smudged Misfortune
Into the love-sick lives.
For the boy got worse.
Unable to control
The temptation of all thats wrong,
His fragile mentality
And ripping seams
Of the stength he never knew
Made him crumble down
To the Devil's calling.
Infernal beyond
The worst nightmares imagineable,
He made the young girl cry,
Turning soft tears to
An ever-lasting downpour
Of disgrace and torment.
The girl not ready to let go,
Holding onto the weak remnants
That belonged to a breaking boy,
Cast aside all thoughts of self
And plunged forward into
A never dying want to please
Her faint and devilish love,
While her efforts never panned out.
She looked to the Heavens
For Strength and Hope
And was guided along
A shadowed path
She was told to venture alone.
Colors whisked around
And dust particles
Floated in the light,
Telling her to get out
Of all that pained her,
That she had to make
The bravest move
And start anew.
And she listened carefully
To the Earth's deep tones,
Telling her how Love
Could give her strength,
To know the difference between
Holding on for the best
And holding onto what has
Already been captured by Demise.
And in the nothingness
This girl understood
How her struggling little Devil
Had helped her change
From a naive girl
To a woman of strength,
Trembling with the weight
Of a shattered heart.
So soon the dry leaves dipped and dove,
Creeping quickly in descent,
They called out autumn's swift advent.
Then collaborating hands of time
Struck the tearful hour
Of the inadmissable, unsought
And completely undesired end,
Which no one could evade
Without more misery.
And Cupid said sometimes He
Works in cryptic ways.
Our young woman
Came upon
Her Broken Love in a grimy gutter
And took his sin severed hand
In hers,
Pressed her lips upon it,
Then whispered
Goodbye Love.
So Wind blew his final gust
Of story,
And Master Moon put down his pipe
While silver tears
Escaped his weary eyes
Once more.
The woman stood on fancy balcony
Pulling close her rustic robes,
And looked upon the half lulled Moon,
While drunk
And slurring words,
Her Broken Love did the same.
Past tears now dammed,
They looked into the night
And heeded unpleasant anniversary
Of the time all Earth
Ordered unsympathetic depart.
And the two detrimental yet rescuing words
Were cut and run:
"Goodbye Love,
Goodbye Love,
Yet this isn't quite the end."
