Sitting Silently

Sitting here slilently waiting...
For any sign of hope.
Hope for maybe a better reaosn...
A better way to cope.
It seems like I've been sitting here,
For days and weeks on end.
Wishing for all this chaos to stop...
For my shattered heart to mend.
Look at me and no longer,
Will you ever see my soul.
It has stopped its beautiful dancing,
Because events have taken their toll.
The twinkle in my eyes has left,
And its now been gone for a while.
The only shimmer or shien you'll see,
Are my tears aflow like the Nile.
Darker tones have left my face...
And the roses left my cheeks...
Becoming paler with less grace,
And much less dignity.
The smiles from my face have faded,
Mainly into blank stares.
While my mind sits constantly thinking...
And wondering if you still care.
The warmth of you embrace,
Used to entangle me forever,
Giving me hope for a new tomorrow,
And sunlight from stormy weather.
The youth of which was in my face,
Is now that of the old.
And the warm welcoming look in my eyes,
Is now that of the cold.
A constant wave of pain,
Aches and scrapes my body.
Beginning at my heart...
With never a sign of mercy.
Look at me... look in my eyes
And tell me what you see.
You can see right through me now...
I'm only a vision of what I used to be.
