Those Pills

Alone at two a.m she sits there,
Dejected and unaided, and all she does is stare.
Out the window she watches the gleaming moon
And wonders how she lets every choice become her doom.
Mistakes she’s made, people she disappoints all seem so distant
While she escapes it all for just that instant.
While her fate is treacherous, her pain is endless,
She sits and weeps because she is once again helpless.
Her despair hides behind the smile she shows,
Her true feelings, nobody ever really knows.
She’s heard what they can do, and kill her they may
She doesn’t care; those pills she swallows get her through the day.
Everyday she’s scared it may be her last,
Yet, scared of living to remember past.
She tries so hard in life yet gets nothing right,
She has finally lost all will to fight.
Maybe this will be the end she almost hopes,
She knows it’s wrong but this is the way she copes…
