I look around my room
All your tokens of love are gone
Your pictures all in the garbage
Your flowers strewn across the lawn.

Your precious autographed football
Has taken its last breath
That jewelry box you gave me
Now knows the true meaning of death.

That stupid little bracelet
That you bought for our first year
Has been forever discarded
But yet rained upon by a tear.

All of the things you gave me
Are just a token of your deceit
You’ve left me with an incurable disease
One that no doctor can treat.

I told myself I’d never love
To keep from being in love alone
But I gave you my heart and disobeyed myself
When all along I should have known.

So now your remnants are all cast away
In a strong but yet feeble try
To erase your memory from my heart
But it’ll remain until I die.
