Searched so cautiously
Dreamed of love
Died so passionately
It was never enough

And a dream in a day
Of a night we recall
A silhouette murdered
For a face on a wall

In the portrait so fragile
Of human innocence
And betrayal of the mind
In untold ignorance

Beheld like a child
Spoken like a dream
Of a hand outstretched
And a lingering scream

Behold I am the night
She said with conviction
And love me not
She felt some suspicion

Reality’s image
A reflection had died
A bound and gagged woman
His innocent bride

But woe to the savage
Of earthly embrace
You could see the sadness
Wound in her face

I loved you once
I had said for so long
Just to feel inside
Like somewhere I belonged

In arms to hold
In tears to cry
Bound and gagged
At heart she died

Forever in darkness
A sweet taste of hell
Dead and forgotten
Where the silhouette fell
