I will never forget that bright summer day
When your mommy first told me you were on the way

In a small little restaurant in the middle of town
We were ready for lunch, we had just sat down

At first I was speechless, not sure what to say
I had never expected such news that day

I thought for a moment about your due date
I was very excited, not wanting to wait

It is now February; your due date is drawing near
It will not be long until you are finally here

I can’t wait to see you for the very first time
To know that you are here and that you are fine

Family I am not, but I’ll love you each day
