If i knew you were going to walk away
and not return the next day
i would've said goodbye
i would've let you left without me having to cry

if i knew you were going to walk away
i would've told you what I've always wanted to say
thank you for the love you gave me
how much i appreciated you saving me

saving me from the depression in my life
taking from my hands, the knife
held you close and give you a hug
then let you fly away like a bug

if i knew you were going to walk away
i would've preyed for you to stay
told you more secrets and issues
i would've let you be my tissues

if i knew you were going to walk away
i would've held on tight till we both sway
thanked you and kissed and hugged you again
told you that you were my best friend

but God took you from me
i suppose i should let this be
but how am i meant to live my life
if i don't have you standing here by my side?
