Let them say
what they want to say,
but all they did
was light my fuse, spark my
imagination,
and start up my muse.
Inspiration was as a caged bird,
but the bird has flown,
the truth
has been realized, my spirit has grown.
You,
who made your smart
remarks,
my words you did
contort,
now, you stand alone, they all fled,
leaving you without support. And now I’ve heard,
the word
has fallen upon my ear;
with God beside me,
you can’t touch me,
as long as
I,
stand here.
