Who Are You

I've known you forever,
Since I can remember.
Childhood picnics,
Parental quick-tips.
We lived our lives,
With vigor and strife.
Never wondering what tomorrow would bring,
Didn't need to know a thing.

Now, when I look at you,
I know I can't see right through.
Your tough guy exterior,
Is making me feel inferior.
Then I wonder who are you?
We've known each other forever,
And yet I hardly know you.

Is it just you're a nice guy,
Am I just your life line?
Is there another girl
Living in your world
Besides me, because I don't know you.
When I see you smile,
I think that it's alright,
Walking right on by,
Once you pass I sigh...
