I'm sorry for all the jealousy
I can't keep it from coming through
it may not be what you wanted to see
but it's just something I have to do
to keep some shred of my sanity
and to finally just get over you

and although I may feel empty
because the one you love isn't me
still you stay here in me
inside my soul burns your memory
and I hope he makes you happy
hope he's everything you'd ever need
hope he keeps you smiling and laughing
I hope he's everything I wanted to be...

And I don't say it to sound bitter
cuz that's not really what I mean
and it doesn't come from anger
or loneliness no one could ever see
no this time its something bigger
something hidden deep inside of me
not written as a simple line of poetry
or something I said because it's what you'd want to see
but I love you and want to see you happy
even if it means you're not here with me......
