Unspoken Beauty

Blades of grass rustle in the gentle breeze.
Fireflies dot the darkened field.
Crickets chirp in the distance.
Sparkling stars hang overhead.
The full moon peers down upon the land.
I stand in the midst of it all,
Awestruck by it's brilliance,
Feeling vulnerable in its vast openness.
It was hardly empty
But still open.
A wonder in it's own right.
What I wouldn't give to be in that sky,
Among the moon and stars,
Intangible from the world below.
