A Poem For Mom

Mothers are very special
In many different ways
All the times I wish
You never passed away

I was eleven
Brandon was twelve
What a horrible day
We thought we were in Hell

We remember it so clearly
As if it were yesterday
Everyone was crying
No one knew what to say

It was a cold January day
The sky looked like it was going to rain
I looked over at my brother
He was in so much pain

I had a chance to say good-bye
Brandon was too far away
By the time he got there
You had already passed away

I had my first job
Went to my first dance
All these things I wish you could have seen
But you never had the chance

I got my drivers license
Was on the homecoming court
Bought my first car
It was hard to do without your support

I have a little baby
Brandon has one on the way
Mine is getting so big now
She looks more like her grandma everyday

I know we will meet again
Although it will be a while
It seems like forever
But you will be greeted with a smile

Your grandkids will be excited
When we look at the big blue sky
I will tell them all about you
Then let out a happy cry

I am so proud of you
You had a hard life
You were the perfect mother
And would have been the perfect wife

Mommy I know you hear me
We love you very much
Your little boy and little girl
Miss you a whole bunch!
