Why do you not respect me
Because I want you and need you
Why do you not respect me
Because my love and life for you
Are speak and live to be true

You ask me to hold you
Comfort you when you are down
From oceans of tears to that life underneath the ground

So why do you not respect me
You asked for Powerful, intelligence, Ambition, with dignity
For I stumbled upon your doorstep
Were you careful with what you asked
The scum of the earth for, happiness for you, will not be

I stroked your ego, I anointed your pride
Was there for you in tune to be your bride
Now that I think about it, you don’t deserve me
Your intentions, your lively hood is smaller than a pea

Red river rushes thru my soul angrily so heated
My heart pierced
for a love that wasn’t honest
But a love that cheated

Back up off me, leave me alone
For the presence of my soul with you are now gone

Now that I turned my back on you,
You fell and crawled to me on your knees
Now you want to respect me,
Baby please

So now you want to respect me
Be a man, I don’t want you
Your things are at the door
I turned my back on you, now you want more

I turned my back on you,
My love for you once, is no more
So, is this what has to be for you to respect me…
