Sickness

There was a time when these feelings were cured
The sickness I had for you, this disease so pure
Still it lurks deep in my heart
Poisoned within, crumbling apart

Not knowing how to say, or how to express
When the struggle within is making progress
When one simple hello skips my heart
When an innocent silence splits it apart

From the sting in your eyes, to the lapse in my breath
Your strangling sickness has been put to the test
That look in your eyes, the mark of your face
create spots in my heart I can't replace

Those empty spots, all for you
Those empty spots, will prove it's true
Contagious, poisonous, is your sanctioned dove
It fills the empty spot… for your sickness of love
