It Was Just A Drive

As you look into you lover’s eyes your hurt stops and you begin to cry.

You thought you could just take the car for a spin, but instead her life
was pulled in. You thought you could just have some fun, but now death has
just won.

You try to hold the pain inside but all you see is death’s surprise.

You try to take off her high school ring, but all you see is life
suffering.

You thought you could just have some fun, have a beer and say you had to
run. Your hands were on the steering wheel, but now all you see is death’s
appeal.

You thought it was all just a game and that she was okay, but now she’s
lying on the bed, lying
cold, pale, and dead.
