Daeth by materialism

When the smoke clears, whats left might discover
What we could have amounted to in one way or another
Driven by fear and a false sense of fellowship
The things we owned was proven to be the opiate
Its what you have that makes you who you are
Living this way didnt get us very far
We begged and we stole, cheated and lied
Just so we can hold that materialistic pride
They fed on the weakness of welfare dependent homes
So they could get cheap labor and upgrade everything they own
The rich withold their refuge , palms towards the sky
In hopes to be forgiven for the families they let die
Greed is the plauge that engulfed this earth
When in search for happiness its about "who gets it first"
There was no lesson learned we were all at a loss
We would have bought and sold our children if that was the cost
After we distroyed ourselves by wanting more and more
Theres nothing worse than looking back and seeing an open door
To everything we could have been, incredible human beings
Teaching morals and saving lives, but our outcome was forseen
